John Laurens died on the field of battle in 1782 with the strong belief that Alexander Hamilton, his closet friend and the only person he'd ever truly loved romantically, hated him.

Alexander Hamilton was crushed when he heard the news of John Laurens' death from his devoted wife, Elizabeth (Eliza). Though, he had no idea that Laurens looked after his firstborn son, Philip.
