Hold Me Close (BxB) {COMPLETED}. ✔️ by ThanatosPatase23
25 parts Complete Mature
Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong. He didn't even change in the main locker room for PE, he went in the stalls. He was anxious. He wanted to know what was happening and when so that he can prepare for all possible outcomes of that event. And he was gay; his family knew and supported him, but no one else knew. He was too scared of how they would react to tell them. Jessie knew his brother would be teased. It was really a fact. Humanity wasn't too good at accepting of different beings. No matter how human Octaveus made himself look, he couldn't hide his unnaturally pale skin that no matter how hard he tried would not tan or his yellow cat eyes. He just had to try to fit in, same as the rest of their family. Seth was the school bad boy, and secret werewolf. His hobbies included pushing around the Freshman, flirting relentlessly with any and every attractive popular girl in sight, and trying not to think about Octaveus. He didn't want other people to find out about his thoughts on the emo new kid. So, naturally, he made Octaveus's school day a living hell. But he still couldn't figure out why this new kid intrigued him so much, besides that he was obviously not human. {BOOK 1 OF THE 'Scars I Hide' SERIES} *CAUTION: Mature for scenes of self-harm and suicide, PG-13 language, graphic violence, and some sexual topics* IF YOU READ THIS, DO NOT SKIP THE INTRO. Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. A Breath of Fresh Air by HeyImZackC
11 parts Complete
For 17-year-old high school senior Evan Brooks, life could be better. He's a social outcast at school, stuck in a rural Alabama small town he never wanted to move to, and he's got a secret he's desperately trying to keep: he's gay. When he embarks on a weekend vacation to the Florida panhandle with his hypermasculine brother, homophobic stepdad, and aloof mother, none of them can anticipate how much a simple 3-day trip will change their lives forever... **2025 Update: Hi! This was my very first attempt at crafting an entire story from scratch all the way back in 2020, and I'd like to think my writing has since improved. I've started working on a big rewrite project, so stay tuned for a newly enhanced story! Please visit the last chapter (2025 Rewrite Info/Updates) for more details. In the meantime, the original story will remain here in full - just know that I know some parts of it are cringe lol. I hope you still enjoy it though! :) Some details have changed between this story and Road to Rockdale in anticipation of the rewrite, so please excuse some inconsistencies if you're coming from that story. I promise everything will line up eventually! CONTENT WARNING/TRIGGERS: Please note that this story contains very strong language at times and some mature themes. Some characters face emotional abuse. There is also a small amount of physical abuse, but it is mostly implied apart from one scene which is not extremely graphic. Some characters are homophobic, and a slur is used a handful of times.
