Many ships have gone missing for some reason, and many of the townspeople are concerned. This includes Lance Traventer and his mentor Mr. Breyton. Mr. Breyton's been hiding something, perhaps more than a few things. His young companion isn't the only one left in the dark. When Lance is given the chance to sail for the first time, what will happen when he finds himself face to face with the sea creatures of fable? Or stuck in the beginnings of war?
