Desperate to outrun her past, 20 year old Clover King finds herself in the unassuming coastal city of Cabo, Brazil, set on utilizing her (questionable) set of skills to stay under the radar and make a living. It's not much, but it's a fresh start, and she's determined to avoid trouble and do only what needs to be done to maintain her comfort.
Try as she might, however, trouble always seems to find her- even when she's not looking.
This time around? Trouble is Amias Metcalfé, one of Cabo's most notorious criminals, and after being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, Clover is forced to make a deal with the devil himself that shatters her plans of finally obtaining normalcy. He's a power-hungry asshole with a moral compass too dysfunctional to trust, and the ultimatum he offers leaves her with no choice but to welcome everything she swore to stay away from back into her life.
However badly she's tried to avoid more tragedy, he's as addictive as he is dangerous, and getting pulled into his world proves to be a lot easier than getting out--
But god knows what will happen if she doesn't try.
