Here, Saihara works as a cashier at a local coffee shop, while Ouma is a really tired book editor who visits the coffee shop regularly. Despite the fact that Ouma is basically a walking zombie, Saihara is still constantly annoyed by the smaller boy and thinks that he's doing it for attention. What he doesn't realise, is that he has developed a small crush on the purple-haired male.

As he stalked his beloved around Shuichi see kokichi get pushed, punched and thrown around multiple times in a day by Kaito and Rantaro, Shuichi decides to take matters into his own hands to protect his beloved from anything that hurts him or comes in the way of him and his beloved. The last thing he wanted is being stuck in another killing game with now 47 other people, and making sure it doesn't happened again, he has no choice, but to play the hero this time as much as he prefer playing the villain, he's gonna play the hero this time around to make sure to lessen the casualties
