However, the Scottish Highlands in the 18th century are no place for a lonely young woman. She finds herself a Sassenach, an outlander, feared and in danger from both Jacobites and Redcoats. In the midst of all this chaos and violence, the only stable thing in her life is Jamie Fraser, a gallant Scottish warrior. Torn between love and logic, Magda must choose between two irreconcilable lives - either sacrifice her love, or stay in the 18th century forever...
