Once Grayson and I reached my home, he stayed for a moment longer. I stared up at him, he reached out to me, and tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear. I blushed as his fingers brushed against my skin. He tilted my chin up towards him. I shuddered and looked up at him through my lashes. I lightly gripped his upper arm. His face hovered over mine. His hot, shallow breath against my lips made me shift. He slipped his other arm around my back, and pulled me gently towards him. "Lyla..." My name on his lips felt like I was lighter than air. The part of me that is trying to resist this kicks in, "Grayson... no, I-I can't." I whispered. I was surprised how my smooth and innocent my voice was sounding. My plea just made him hold me tighter, "And why not?" He asked gently. His eye bore a hole in me, right in the center of my heart. The place that wanted me the most to love him unconditionally and to hold onto him and never let him go. "Because May will be mad." I replied. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the warmth of his lips to overwhelm me. He stayed where he was, his lips just out of reach. He was teasing me. I opened my eyes, and looked into his.
