Being outside Africa wasn't exactly new to her because she wasn't born in Africa but it doesn't exactly mean it was something she was used to.
She stumbles upon this overly handsome young man whose way out of her league but he finds her very intriguing because of where she comes from.
She's not sure of what to think of his interest in her and just refuses to see past the fact that he just might like her more than just the girl that comes from Africa.
