Amira, an 18 year-old girl, is comfortable and familiar with her day-to-day life. She lives with her mother, Zati, and younger brother, Zyy. Amira works at a book-store while her mom works at a thrift store; Zyy is an apprentice to a journalist. As lower middle-class citizens in the country of Brunei, they aren't unbeknownst to the issues in their country. One day, Amira is presented with the opportunity to potentially change her and her family's lives, not to mention several other ones. With the annoyingly handsome and irritatingly funny Prince Brunei by her side, Amira's simple life is transformed from books, hair knots, and sneakers, to gowns, jewels, and a ridiculous amount of ribbons. With those, however, come the mysteries of love, anger, and murder, much to Amira's dismay.

"You're really pissing me off right now." Amira scowls as Mateen tosses another pillow at her. She hurls it back at him and he snickers as he doges it effortlessly.

"Come on, Mira, it'll be fun." Mateen gives her a playful grin, flashing his pearly white teeth at her.

"No." She turns away from him, hiding the beginnings of smile on her own face.

"Okay, fine. Goodnight." Mateen says abruptly.

"Wait, what? I was jok--" Amira starts and whips back around to come face-to-face with Mateen's arrogant grin again. He waggles his brows at her.

"You're an ass." She huffs and storms out of the room, with Mateen following her gleefully.

"I know you like me." He brushes his shoulder against her own flirtatiously.

"That's another sentence I'm gonna have to add to my list of 'Mateen's Misconceptions.' I can't wait till I tweet it out for all of your adoring fans to read." Amira taunts and nudges him with her shoulder.

"Do that and I'll have you thrown out of the castle."

"Well, now I'm definitely going to do it." Amira laughs as Brunei sighs and mutters obscenities to himself.
