Lukas is a 14 year old boy who's just graduated middle school. The thought of romance and love has never truly crossed his mind. Now that he's entering High School, all of his peers are busying thinking about dating and relationships, which makes him think. His best friend, Andrew, is in the same boat. After hearing Andrew mention the idea of exploring his identity, it makes Lukas wonder if he has any repressed feelings for his childhood best friend. These thoughts of his friendship being something more than platonic only adds to the anxieties of High School and the future.
~I tried to make this story by incorporating some aspects of my life as a queer teenager and the queer experience. Even if only one person who reads this identifies with the character of Lukas, I feel like my job is well done. I hope you enjoy this coming of age story!~
Just wanted to let everyone know that I don't have a consistent posting schedule. I get writers block a lot and often times need to take mental health breaks. I promise to try to post as often as I can, even with my school schedule with testing and stuff.

His eyes landed on a boy named David who is a student in Blake's new school. Blake starts to slowly develop a crush on David. They both started to become friends. Nathan Eriksson, a closeted bisexual with overbearing internalized homophobia slowly falls for the outspoken gay man on campus, Graham Eide after running into him, quite literally in the Hall 28 stairwell, an awkward accident resulted in them interacting face-to-face for the first time in over a year, noticing each other nonstop around campus and outside afterward as if the universe was somehow bringing them together as friends- maybe more. A year prior, during Graham's first year of college, word got out that he was gay, and it quickly spread around campus due to Megan Fujikawa-Katz, a girl with a popular campus gossip blog, getting a hold of the information, and her best friend, Nathan Eriksson, twisting the knife further by encouraging and participating in verbally harassing Graham relentlessly. Sure, never getting physical, but not in a hurry to stop anyone from hurting Graham. But after a while, he slowly forgot about Graham, of course, he was in the back of his head, not for any weird reason, but how anyone would think about someone they "Disliked." But to his surprise, after an entire year had passed since then, Nathan on his way to work on an art project outside during a crisp fall day, trips and stumbles over someone sitting on the dormitory stairs, thudding down the rest of the cement steps down to the bottom, his eyes blurred before finally focusing on the person standing over him, watching their long brown hair hanging in front of their face as they bent down to see if he was okay. An annoyed scowl slowly emerged on Nathan's face after realizing who it was.

My name is Mason Lux, and I'm the 'gay best friend' of the queen bee of high school, Gabriella Grace, aka Gabby. Along with our other best friend Emily, we are called the GEM(s), the s is silent. Rulers of the school through gossip and drama, we are either adored and hated, there is no in between. While being popular is fun and all, there's something that it doesn't bring you, love - at least for me.
