Mary Ripley has the gift of clairvoyance - in fact, she might be the strongest clairvoyant in existence. But not many people believe that she is anything more than a wannabe medium. At last, she gets the chance to prove herself, having been asked as a last resort to come into the Greenville house by the chief of police, who is at a dead end.
