Why is it that some parents refuse to love their children? At least her mother has the excuse of a dying, shattered mind; but her father was just an asshole. When Kaida is forced to find love in other places, it seems like it's not worth all the blood and tears in the world; and in her case, there seems to be a lot of both. Bearing the burden of unbreakable fear and unstoppable power is too much for one girl, no matter how rough and tough her exterior may be. But by some miracle, her salvation may lie within a boy with impulsivity and anger issues, and another with stunted emotions and touch starvation. Through blood and pain, loss and exhaustion, maybe it will all turn out ok in the end.
