Humans evolved from apes and every animal in the world can be traced back along evolution to the first living cells. That means that animals and humans are connected in a way, however distantly. But what if the connection wasn't invisible. What if animal traits could be seen in humans?

A fictional world where people who carry these traits are feared and contained, persecuted even, and are deemed the 'afflicted'. The world is just starting to recover after a recent war with these 'afflicted' and things don't appear to be changing for the better. Each year the treatment of those who are different becomes worse, even after they are confined to the large island of Pangaea.

Politicians, diplomats and world leaders are gathering on Pangaea to discuss the worsening attitudes toward the 'afflicted' and with them comes Cree Lyne. Along with the fox, the bluejay and the ever-snoring grizzly will she find her stolen brother or find out why the long-dead raccoon boy still haunts his friends?
