"Where I'm from, you always have to think outside the box. When you tag walls that you don't own, rob people that you believe are scum, or expressing yourself to be a true monster... that's what makes us different. That's what makes us who we are!"

"It's the Will of the Sergeant to not lose themselves of their morals and dignities. Prestigious, Middle-Class, and Poor lifestyles don't display who you are. Charge through this perception and shape your identity."

"Procedures push us back. We can't be sent in, half-assed, and expect things to go back to normal. No... I say we have to make our own choices. Doesn't matter about following the rules or what Command has to say. If we don't take risks and don't do what needs to be done, our hands will be bloody tied!

Following the adventurer's footsteps, the perspective shift gears as Hilda's driven to a world of war and learning that her fate has been sealed for the future. After five years hunting down the vampires who had killed her family, living alone, outside society, Kalyna had finally found a home. She had signed up as a trainee with the Occult Task Force, a cross-species military branch where supernaturals and humans fought together against the darkest forces threatening this and every world in existence. Not only that, but she'd finally put her trust in someone; the amber and honey-eyed Staff Sergeant Dunstan Eorl, the vampire who'd held her together when no one else could. Her first problem...? The sire who'd enslaved Dunstan and tortured him for four hundred years now had her sights on Kalyna, asking that Dunstan trade her freedom for that of his wife; a wife he'd thought had died centuries earlier, but who had actually shared his grim fate. Not only that, but his sire, Laelia, seemed to be working with a cult who had no qualms about sacrificing people to open a 'door' and welcome their Lord. Her second problem? No one knew what or where the door was, who the cult worshipped, or why they needed Kalyna. Maybe the answer to that led back to her strange heritage, which included more supernatural strains than should have been possible, andr which had given her more instinctual magic than anyone could fathom. She hadn't even scratched the surface of what she was, but she feared that by the time she understood where she came from, it might be too late to save herself from the target painted on her back, or from the magnetism that drew misfortune toward her with unerring regularity. She was beginning to feel like a liability. Like perhaps her bad luck would eventually get someone else killed.

"How do you feel now, Morgan?" She says, more pointing something out than asking a question. She grabs hold of my wrists and tightens them. If I could see properly I could swear I see them turn purple. "I could beat you to the bone, right here, right now, till you die from your injuries. But, I won't. You will die. Maybe not today, maybe not in a month, but you will." Well, obviously I'm going to die. Humans don't live forever. "Wonder why?" "No, and I really don't care." She answers anyway. "Because we have the power, the people, and the weapons to do it. Face it, you're defenseless against us." I feel some blood flooding my mouth, so I, being a perfectly nice person, spit it in her face. That doesn't faze her at all. "I have the strength and intelligence, something you clearly don't have. Whatever y'all do to me, it won't break me. I will put up a hell of a fight before losing. I will fight, and I will win." I turn over and look at her fellow companions. "Even if I die doing it." "Is that a risk you're willing to take?" ____________________________________ 17 year old Morgan Peters is an average girl living life. "You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. Saving Leah Series Book 4 Publishes on Amazon! Link in my Bio. One test, only two results. Teague had everything a dominant could hope for: a loving family, freedom to chase any career, and the privilege of higher education. The only thing missing was a submissive to complete his life. But with mounting student debt threatening his future, he makes a bold choice-enlisting in the army to secure financial stability. It seemed like an easy decision at the time. After all, there hadn't been a war in years. Basic training, drills, maybe some security detail-he could handle a few years of service for the country he loved. What could go wrong? Then, war erupted. Thrown onto the front lines, Teague finds himself deep in the chaos, far from the secure future he once envisioned. His mission now: sweep through the war-torn, supposedly abandoned city of Duro. But as with everything in war, nothing is as it seems. Then there was her, a woman. Her fate had been sealed the second she came from the womb. As the fourth wife of a powerful lord, her life was a shadow-always the least favored, the least important, the least considered. Her only goal: survive another day. But when horrors tear through her home, she's forced into a choice that changes everything-one that leaves her with blood on her hands. Captured and taken behind enemy lines, she faces an impossible decision: who can she trust in a world governed by power and control? The ways of her captors seem so similar to her own people, yet Teague insists they are not.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!
