Lila Higgins was a normal girl who just wanted to go into the sea for a swim. Until she met a mermaid named Rikki Oceana, and turned into one of Rikki's kind for a while. At least, it was supposed to be for a while. Only that Rikki forgot that if Lila stayed in the water for too long, she would become a mermaid permanently.

Now, Lila is stuck as a mermaid. She has to give up her human family, but that is only the start of her troubles. Yet, she won't give up.

Her hope shines like the sparkling stars, but with problems as huge as the ever-changing waves, will Lila ever get her happily-ever-after?
