Lauren Covich is a fourteen year old girl in her freshman year in high school.  She has been bullied, taunted, and teased by "The Populars", consisting of Adrianna Wilmington, Diana Christiansen, and Olivia McCoy, for the past three years of middle school.  This year, she has finally beat the popular kids and has gotten over their ways.

But tragedy strikes.  Lauren loses her life in a shark attack.  She desperately fights for her life, but nothing works.  Lauren wakes up, and is looking over Adrianna at her home.  She was being treated horribly by her older brother, Michael.  Diana was being bullied in her church group.  Olivia was being abused mentally and physically.  Lauren soon realizes that things happen to change who people are, and may not be for the better.
