The Girls' Academy of Excellence is continuously terrorized by its founders - infamously called the Witches. However, a student named Emma refuses to cower from their threats and becomes a target for them. Her friends have her back, but she can only inspire so many before the threats become deadly.
Things become even more complicated when, during an excursion in the nearby village of Kakariko - a growing, bustling mining town at the base of Death Mountain, Emma's curiosity is piqued when she hears a rumor that a mysterious boy has appeared. Emma encounters this handsome stranger named AJ and learns of a dark secret that may put Kakariko in danger.
With the Academy's founders looming over the students and the secret over Kakariko, as well as chaotic nightmares that have suddenly manifested, Emma wonders how she's still sane - if she's still sane. Can she trust AJ to help keep Kakariko safe? And how can she protect her friends from the Witches when she can barely protect herself?
