Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III has done the unspeakable - befriended a dragon. And not just any dragon, but a Night Fury, the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself.
When coming first in Dragon-training and having to kill a dragon as his final task, Hiccup decides to run away from Berk, with his Night Fury, Toothless, never to return...

"TOOTHLESS!" He got caught, in that exact moment a... NIGHT FURY appeared. Almost an exact replica of toothless it was roaming around, another one was sitting near on a cliff. Long ago, there was a village of vikings on a small island known as Berk, which suffered weekly, sometimes even nightly raids from fire breathing dragons. However the chief's wife, Valka, believed peace was possible between the Vikings and Dragons but no one believed her. During a terrible raid, she was taken by a dragon that showed signs of kindness. However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith.
