Kyra Magnae just turned sixteen. Things seemed great, until two weeks later when some kind of tattoo burns itself onto the inside of her wrist. It's a strange mark and she doesn't know what it means. Before she knows it, she's brought to a strange place and told things that she thought only existed in movies. But she always says that life is just like a movie. And doesn't every movie have a conflict? She just doesn't think that this particular movie has a resolution. She ends up finding herself thrown into an enchanted new world with strange people and creatures that will turn on you without even the slightest warning. And she lands in a place that will change her life, and her, forever.
