Jackson Overland Frost was suffering from terminal cancer. It was killing him slowly, and as a side effect of his cancer, he fell into a deep depression. Finally, his parents decide that it's time for Jackson, or Jack, to be sent to a local support group.
At first, Jack doesn't enjoy it at all. He finds the support group to be boring and a waste of time. That is, until, someone new joins the support group. This someone being Hiccup Haddock, a twenty year old boy who suffered from osteosarcoma, which had cost him his leg.
Jack immediately falls for Hiccup, and Hiccup felt the same. Hiccup begins to show his affection for Jack through flirtatious actions. Finally, after a few months of their friendship, they take a trip to Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
While in Amsterdam, they share their first kiss and end up staying the night together in Jack's hotel room.
Unfortunately, Hiccup begins to relapse, and Jack begins to worry. Hiccup could die any day.
But will he?
