The town of Driftwood didn't offer much to its inhabitants. For the most part, it gave people a quiet life and the ability to connect with others around you. The floor here was still stone like in the hallway, yet it was dead quiet. Her shoes just made no noise. She was so close she could make out the individual strands of magic in the water of the Fountain when she heard the scream. It was shrill and blood-curdling, filled with so much fear it made Hera want to scream herself. Which she did, when she looked up. It was a Conjured. Looking directly at her. ~~~~~ Hera Giala loves books. She kind of sees herself as a background character, necessary to the plot but not really anything special. Yet no amount of reading could have prepared her for what was to come. A war has been waging for centuries. The war between Giala and Conjured - evil, decaying, humanlike creatures with burning blue eyes and a hatred for royals. Royals like Hera, princess of Giala. And now, as the new queen, it's Hera's job to kill them, and not loose herself or the bright colours of her world in the battle for peace.

Many things exsist in the shadows, hidden from human sight. . . . This story start with Stephan, a 14 year old boy, lived with his parents in a small town bordering a large forest. He was always told by his parents to stay away from the shadowy depths of the forest, but when his father suddenly leaves for some unknown reason, Stephan finds comfort deeper in the woods than he had been permitted to go. He found his sanctuary from the changing world. A natural spring that flows into a stream, the area around it littered with flowers he knew and some he didn't. But he never realized what he would find in those deep, shadowy woods. (This is a rewritten version of those hidden in the shadows and possibly combining the first and second book into one)
