Abigail and Sebastian have been secretly in love with each other for a long time now. Both of them didn't have plans of confessing their feelings for each other, until Sam got engaged to the farmer who moved into Pelican Town just a year ago. Their friend's upcoming wedding made them reconsider their decision and gave them the idea to search for a Mermaid's Pendant, a legendary amulet that no one knows where to find.

Will this little adventure lead to a confession?

"I'd met my match with Sebastian. He was just as much of a loner as I was-maybe even more. We were the only two members of the anti-social social club. It met every Wednesday: under the covers of Sebastian's bed." Stella's memory of Stardew Valley isn't the greatest and she swore she'd never return. But when her father wants to sell her grandfather's farm, Stella reluctantly agrees to buy it off him, afraid that her memories of the valley will disappear altogether if she lets it slip away. As she returns to Pelican Town, the gaps in her memory start to revive as she meets new faces, and reunites with old ones. Her first friend is the extroverted, blue haired Emily, who becomes Stella's key insight into the lives of her neighbors in Stardew Valley. Her first crush is the easy-going, adorably clueless skateboarder, Sam, who she runs into on her very first full day in the valley. Sam is everything Stella is not, and maybe he's what she needs-someone to counteract her melancholic, reclusive personality. But when she meets his dark haired, moody and pessimistic friend Sebastian, who is the complete opposite of Sam, she becomes enthralled with him, wanting to crack through his tough exterior to see what lies beneath. Sebastian is everything she wants, but knows she doesn't need. She knows how he is, because she is the same way. He's like a carbon copy of herself and that only intrigues her more. She knows he's like poison, but the way he makes her feel becomes like an addiction.

"'You don't want to do this,' Nix pleaded, squeezing her eyes shut as she struggled backward, ripping her face from his meaty hand. 'A business isn't worth a human life!' 'Oh, please,' [̸̥̉͠Ḛ̴̏r̶̺̋͋͜r̵̖̥̒ǫ̷̓̿r̵̖̘̄͗]̸̣̾͝ spat, his face contorting with disgust. 'You're barely human.'" After her world comes crashing down on her, Nix Weekly quits her job and moves to her grandfather's old farm in Stardew Valley, Capricorn Grove. Her life can't get any worse, she figures. Besides, a half-blood like her? Perhaps she'd be better off in a place with less people to snicker and sneer at her appearance. It's not like her father's looks ever did her any favors anyway. Because Nix looks like a frog. And humans don't like frogs. Or so she thought. Because when Sebastian looks at her, all he can think about is how beautiful she would look in the rain. It's a shame someone wants her dead. ------ Man, I love frogs. *TW // Blood, swords/knives/guns, war flashbacks, violence, vulgar language, death, potentially disturbing imagery, the selling of people* ; This is one of the darkest fanfictions I've ever written, so keep these TWs in mind. Word count: Approx. 60,700 [Characters belong to ConcernedApe and Chucklefish, with the exception of Nix and a handful of minor characters. The story is original, apart from key details and heart events that make Stardew Valley recognizable.]

Main characters: Seb ♥, Sam, and Abigail! When Callista Kennedy's farm renovation is interrupted by a late-season hurricane, she is given no choice but to stay with Robin while the storm runs its course. It quickly becomes evident that she is not the only one to resent this arrangement; Sebastian - who was exiled from his room to accommodate her stay - finds her just as unbearable as she finds him. Battling both the elements and his cynicism, Callie finds herself having to confront both the past and her history with Sebastian while trying to internally cope with her own struggles. A story that explores a childhood friendships' fallout, proximity, spite, and foolish lust, Liminal Space bridges the gap between too much and not enough to tell a story of pure humanity - and the inevitable connections we make along the way. Disclaimer: all characters, with the exception of Callie, are property of ConcernedApe and his game, Stardew Valley.
