Everyone is amazed when Scarlett wakes up in hospital after eight long months. It's a miracle... until it's obvious that she doesn't remember them. She doesn't even remember her own name. With no memories to rely on, she has to figure out life again. To Scarlett, it sounds like she used to have the perfect live. So she doesn't understand when she learns what sent her into a coma. Flashbacks slowly begin to fill in the blanks and she becomes determined to find out what really went on. Along the way she meets people who know more about herself than she does and begins to realize that sometimes perfect lives aren't always so perfect.

When Evie and her father finally return to their vacation home after two years, Evie is having a hard time adjusting to living without her mother. It had been only four months since the tragedy of her sudden death, and Evie knew it would be hard to forget, if she ever would. However, they were living somewhere new. Therefore, she had to act new, right? Little did she know how difficult that would be. After meeting a certain boy, Evie begins to realize what real life looks like, even after she thought she would never find it again.
