Well Amélie is having a rough life. She is already an outcast in her clan because she is half vampire and half human but, now she is pregnant and not by man her parents want her to be with but, her werewolf boyfriend. Her parents have said multiple times how there was once a girl in their clan to date a werewolf and how she was out-casted and was eventually killed by the werewolf clan she ran away with. It doesn't scare her though. She loves Berwyn and refuses to leave him....even if she has to end up like that other girl.
