No matter how hard she tries to convince herself, Lea knows she isn't normal.

Unlike many other teenagers, her mind is constantly evaluating. She sees characters in her fellow schoolmates, plot lines in the interactions around her. She notices little things in her world that she uses, in turn, to form the principles by which she lives her life.

And it's a really good life. Kind of like a utopia of adolescence. In fact, Lea is so caught up in her world and the wonders of it, she doesn't spare much thought for those less fortunate than her. For the moment, she is happy to be ignorant.

Then something unimaginable happens. Lea dies.

But she's not done yet. Forces outside of her control have been watching her for her whole life, planning a fate she never would've expected. She is going to be tested – in possibly the most extreme way possible.

The worlds are dying. Distant lands unknown to humans, they contain horrors beyond Lea's wildest imagination. But they still have something in common. They're supposed get their happy ending, eventually. And now the happy endings have stopped coming.

Something is wrong – some tiny puzzle piece is missing from the equation. A tiny puzzle piece that could determine the fate of the universe, and all the people in it.

And Lea might just be that piece.
