The words were red on a screen like freshly spilled blood, a warning that flickered as if the letters themselves were scared.

THERE IS AN IMPOSTER.

{<•>}

Waking up in an unfamiliar bed on a ship that was hurtling through space with no memories sounded like a perfectly scripted nightmare. Even her own name alluded her, a empty blank where her entire story should be contained. It was terrifying, and what made it worse was finding the first body and learning that the Imposter wasn't there to play.

They were there to kill, and no one knew who was next.

right, so. if you're here from Tik Tok. Hi. Glad you liked the video and decided to find it.

If not and you just stumbled across this fic. hello as well.

You guys are totally allowed to vote for an Imposter as well!! Who you say may not be ejected as the story is planned, but you can definitely put up some votes and evidence in the comments!

somethings are slightly different from the games- vents can go to more areas and I'm not giving the Imposter a gun for example. So if something isn't entirely perfect, just ignore it for now. anyways, I'm glad you decide to read this and hope you'll enjoy the story!

"And if I fail?" I asked my handler. "We'll find someone else to replace you. But I don't think you'll fail. I've got several bets that are placed on you winning." I gulped. "Why?" "Everyone loves an underdog. Just don't blow my money. Kill that crew." I swallowed and forced my words out. "Yessir." Without a doubt, 3718's life was miserable. From birth, their entire life was geared towards becoming something to be used for another purpose. They were a part of a game in where they and another Impostor competed to kill off a crew for entertainment. Whoever killed the least amount of crewmates by the end was flatlined. Along with that, there was also the fact that 3718 had to worry about getting ejected and dying that way as well. Try and resist and you got shot. Get caught and you were ejected. Survive and you live with the knowledge that you ruined uncountable lives. In a race against time, against your own, what'll happen when 3718 gets a chance to escape it all? TRIGGER WARNING: death, blood, violence, heavy depression and anxiety, suicidal thoughts This book contains characters that are part of the Lgbtq+ community, in particular genderqueer characters, an ace-spec character, and a polyamorous relationship. "Congratulations, Miss Duri. You're leading the fifty-fifth voyage to Polus." My initial giddiness wore away under a new and frankly uninvited sense of suspicion. Only an hour ago they were set on selecting anyone but me. What made them change their mind so quickly? "We were wrong about you, Genesis," the woman said. "We now believe you have the potential to do what your unlucky peers could not. However, you should know that there is no room for mistakes." Nareem leaned forward and picked up his chin. On a normal basis, he was about as intimidating as a rabbit. Now, though, he was pretty close to the office cat's level. "Don't mess this up for us, Miss Duri. Otherwise the consequences will be a lot worse than death." --- Genesis has always wanted to lead a mission to the Polus Space Station, orbiting a Jupiter moon millions of miles away. While each attempt to get there has been compromised by the scheming, violent Conclave, Genesis's hopes to become the next captain of the Skeld have not once faltered. When she finally gets the opportunity of a lifetime, Genesis quickly discovers that, despite her caution, all is not what it seems. Her superiors have maintained minimal contact, and she has reason to believe any one of her crewmates could be an imposter. Once the killings begin, she must act quickly to outwit the Conclave before she and all her crewmates are murdered in cold blood. --- **The characters are original, but this story is based off a game called Among Us. The concept of spaceship crewmates being killed by an imposter does not belong to me, but to the game developers (Innersloth). They also came up with the names "Polus" and "Skeld", as well as the layout of the space station most of the story is set in and the tasks crewmates are required to do. ***Content warnings: murder, peril, mentions of blood

"We've learned from our mistakes, Altera. Enough blood has already been shed." "That didn't stop the start of World War III, did it?" "No. It didn't. But it ended it." "Human minds are just sacs of salt interacting with proteins. Even now, you live in a world of lies, where everything around you is a construct created by your mind. It betrays you. No wonder why you are all such messes." This is a monument to all of their sins. Many a time, evil was executed in the name of a greater good. While one would hope that humans would learn from the mistakes of our past, we are fickle creatures with short memories, horrible prejudices, and a habit of self-destruction. This is a testament to those who didn't have a voice. Who have a story to share, and yet never got the chance to. (A series of short stories taking place in the world of "Beneath the Ice," covering significant events from before BtI to after. Not labeled as an Among Us Fanfiction because events are not all specific to Among Us.) You know the rules: In each game, there are 10 of us. Out of the 10, there are 2 who are imposters. The rest of us are crewmates. Our only job is to do task and catch the imposters. As for the imposters, their job is to kill, vent, and sabotage. If we see a dead body or see something suspicious, we report and regroup. Discussing may take 20 seconds, others may take more than 5 minutes. After discussion, we vote who we think the imposter is, but be careful. You may vote for the wrong person. The crewmates will win when the 2 imposters get voted out. Imposters will win once they manage to take out 6 people. So who in here, is Among Us. The Mira is different from the skill. Vent travels are a lot deadlier, taking you anywhere at any time. Watch out; this map is a lot smaller than the last one. And be careful, imposters; one suspicious movement on the door logs can cause an ejection.
