The Forgotten Child

Evie was the younger of the twins. There was a prophecy that told that one of them would lead the magical world to salvation when great darkness arrives. No one knew which twin it was though and since her sister was older, it was her right? After all, Evie had shown no signs of magical abilities so far, while her sister's abilities kept appearing.

She had spent her life in Ava's shadow. She hadn't known how to control her magical abilities when they appeared, so she did the only thing she knew how. She buried them inside her, along with her jealousy and anger towards her attention-starved sister. When her sister declares the boy Evie has liked since she was little, will be hers, Evie loses control. When her family stares at her in horror at what she had done, she flees.

However, when she flees, she learns that things aren't always what they appear. Her real birth parents have found her and they want to be a part of her life. They teach her to control her abilities, but despite accepting the thing she had hidden inside her for so long, she can't seem to accept what they insist she really is.

Years later, her old crush happens to find her by accident, but now that he has, he insists she needs to go home to her adoptive family. It is his abilities against hers, who will win? Will Evie finally have to face her adoptive family and the reality that the prophecy might have meant her sister all along? Will she give into her lost love and her feelings for him, or will she use her new found knowledge and power to break the last of her ties to her past and chose a life with the being that has spent his life protecting her?
