It's been a year since Remus and Deceit have turned themselves in to the police, ending their reign of terror over the city and Virgil.

Since than Virgil has gained the life he's always wanted. He lives with his best friends and his boyfriends and is going to college. And though the others haven't given up hero work his life of crime is over and the name 'Shadow Master' is rarely ever spoken of anymore.

He and the others are happy and healthy. Patton is one year away from becoming a teacher, soon all he'll have to do is his in-person training and he'll have his dream job. Logan has gained several new students who he helps to tutor. And Roman is not only close to a promotion at work but has been in several plays these past few months. But of course, we all know that happiness doesn't last forever.

The others begin to feel like they're being watched. Trouble arrives at their doorstep and right when they think they're rid of it again something else happens. People are after them, they want all four of them but the reason they want Virgil is different than why they want Patton, Logan, and Roman.
