We opened our mic and prayed. After the prayer, we had her favorite way to do a quick review-recitation.
After some time, it finally ended.

"Mr. Davis, hindi mo pa naipapasa ang project mo. Last week pa yung deadline ah? Ay may balak ka pa bang magpasa?" Sarkastikong tanong ng adviser namin.
"May balak naman po pero hanggang dun nalang po ata" he laughed.
Hey crush! She's dead serious!
"Hindi ako nakikipagbiruan. G12 na kayo, graduating. If you can't take this seriously, then feel free to leave my class" seryosong sabi ng adviser namin.
"Sorry po. I'll make sure to send it after zoom po" nahihiyang sabi niya at halatang pinagsisisihan ang kalokohan kanina.
"It's okay, crush" I said it unexpectedly
"Who said that?"

Eyebrows raised expectantly. For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel. I nodded meekly, hoping that he would turn out to be a patient suffering from short term memory loss and would forget about detention but his next words confirmed how rotten my luck was! "Mr Spencer, Ms Wilson" he began in an icy calm voice," creating a raucous in the corridors right outside my office isn't exactly a heroic thing to do. Both of you have an option of either a week detention together or a two week detention together." My eyes shot wide open, "One week detention with him! That's practically impossible for humankind!" "I don't want to risk my bright IQ by serving detention with this psycho!" I heard Spencer jerk protest. "You have an IQ???" I looked at him, giving my best shocked expressions, "Is it the joke of the decade or joke of the century???" "Since you didn't react to my calling you a psycho, it confirms that you are one." he shrugged calmly. My brain was ready in an instant with a smart answer to that. I opened my mouth to give it back to him--- "STOP." The headmaster yelled, the pulse in his temple was throbbing red in fury. "The options are now changed to three week detention or four week detention." he muttered in anger. ***** Andrea Wilson was looking forward to having an ordinary life in school. But things don't turn out as planned when she accidentally gets into the bad books of the hot nerd in school. And when that popular nerd turns out to be her brother's best friend....well things don't really uncomplicate.
