Vesryn may be the only female alive to withstand the primal and aggressive rank challenges of the Telnari, but with one fell swoop her allegiance is tested. She becomes a lab rat for the Telnari scientists, her DNA changed, before being left as a failed test subject on an icy planet. Now she must escape, and find a way to seek her revenge.
Kel is the first born son of the Telnari Emperor, but Kel is not committed to the cause, and runs away in an effort to live a more peaceful life. One without responsibilities, or an entire Dominion just itching to challenge his rank for the rest of his life. However, that plan changes when he finds the flame haired star elf chained to a frozen wasteland of a planet.
When the two meet, will they be able to set aside their differences? Can they figure out how to take revenge on the Telnari Dominion? Will Kel take the throne in hand, or will he continue to refuse his birth right?
A fallen world. A disgraced general exiled to a cycle of life and death. Will Vesryn have what it takes to escape and bring down the man who committed genocide on her people? Trepidation: Act 1
10,000 years in the future, humanity has long since inhabited a region of space simply known as the "Habitable Zone of the Milky Way," or simply the "Habitable Zone." Many advancements have been made, though many are irrelevant to the billions - or perhaps more - of souls scattered across space. Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories a century after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness.
