"As always, we will start with the girls." Lyra chirps, walking over to the glass bowl with our names in it. She reaches her hand in and dramatically pulls out a piece of paper, slowly opening it.
"Johanna Mason."
Suddenly everything's muffled. Next to me I faintly hear Leif and Ash crying "No!" while clutching onto my wrists so hard it hurts.
From over in the adults section Jan's screaming "I volunteer! Take me! Please! Not my sister!" While my dad and my mom are clutching onto each other, moaning in agony.
I do not own many of the characters in this story, they belong to Suzanne Collins.

This work follows The Hunger Games book from the POV of an OC. Some of the plot will be changed and/or dialogue will be different. I will be following the original plot from the book as closely as possible, with some variations of differing scenes or text due to the OC insert. Thus, the world, most of the characters in this fic, most of the plot, and dialogue, belongs to and is owned by Suzanne Collins. All rights are to the creators of the hunger games series. This work will span through the first book in The Hunger Games Trilogy, and I hope to create others in the future that insert Willow into the other two books as well. Disclaimer: There will likely be some stuff in this fic that are cliche within Hunger Games fics. Also note: there's a last name naming convention for abandoned and orphaned children that is used throughout the districts. Willow's last name is Fairchild because of this. Fairchild is the most common surname for orphans, and is known throughout the districts to be for an orphaned or abandoned person.
