Stop painting the epilogue as the beginning of this golden era with sunshine and rainbows.
During the era of rebuilding, the Golden Trio got caught up in some dark magic some couldn't just pass by. Slytherin was rebranded as the house of evil, the house of murderers. The other three houses were marked as heroic, coming together when Hogwarts needed them most. Harry became an Auror, Ron became a successful businessman in Diagon Alley, and Hermione became a renowned author. They had children who were expected to be just as successful.
The story focuses on three girls entering their first year at Hogwarts. One is a Muggleborn, one is daughter of a very famous Slytherin, and one is caught up in the dark magic mentioned previously. They're caught in the midst of the harsh, untold results of the Battle of Hogwarts.
This is the truth. And it hurts.
