Rebecca Harrington is THAT girl; the typical Valley Girl, the typical prep who's got everything handed to her on a Tiffany & Co. silver platter. Born with looks similar to those of a Malibu Barbie, it's no wonder why all California is talking about the upcoming Cotillion gala, where she will make her debut into society. But whoever will she choose to do it with? Could it be Richard Townsend, the star tennis player of the junior league from racket club and the Ken to her Barbie? Or perhaps someone who is so out of her league, she might have to choose between her family's legacy or this newfound love.

Billy Hargrove, everyone knows of him but no one can say they know him. Staying mostly within his circle of skaters and potheads, he moved with ease from girl to girl, carrying an authority that nobody could deny. Whatever he asked, he got; whatever he wanted, it was given in a snap. That is, until that fateful night he met someone who wasn't as easy to persuade as the rest. You always want the one you can't have, and there is no truer instance than when these two people, from very different worlds, find something in each other they'd never shared with anybody else.

Sometimes what we see isn't what we get, and there is so much more hiding behind a façade. But it takes courage to reveal what hides behind the curtain.
