Chihiro attempted to forget about her time in the spirit world and those she met there. The pain of missing them swelled inside her. She was happy to be home with her family but her heart longed for those she befriended in the other realm. The immense feeling of loneliness grew inside her each year until six years later when she stumbled upon something she never could have imagined.
