When you think of a child. You think of a bubbly energetic joyous child. There is an automatic association of playfulness to a child.

Well, that applied to every other child in her family but her. Of all her five siblings, she was the silent one. She enjoyed the peace it brought. But being silent could get you easily misunderstood. And it did. Most of the time.

Ruby was still a child though. She had her childish moments and her happy times. That was until she got 'sick' and her mother took her to the hospital. That was when it all began. But as a child, she was unaware of what was truly happening to her and her mother was just as in the dark as she was.

Regardless of what was taken from her, she grew up as normal as normal could get. But then the misunderstandings just got more and more. Especially between her and her mother. And as she got older she realised there was never love to begin with in her family. It was all a game of pretence.

And then the horror begun. She knew she was being chased but by whom she didn't know. Countless men had attacked her and more times than she could count, she had escaped just by a whisker.

So she learned how to fight and to disguise herself for her survival. And as if it wasn't enough, nightmares start plaguing her. Nightmares of what seemed to be her past.

What happens when the world she thought existed only in books becomes a reality? When she meets men who want her and will do anything to help and protect her. When the hidden truths come to light.

Will she learn to trust and love again? Will she survive a world that is hell bent on destroying her?

But they all didn't realize that she was already broken. By her past; both known and forgotten.
