An angel sits upon a stone
Bathed in eternal moonlight.
His wings are black with dusted gold
His eyes are blue as midnight
His breathe gives off a fiery heat,
Then takes it in a rush.
His people stand around his feet
And beg, and grovel, and blush.
His tears fall almost constantly
And land among the roses.
His face is white, his heart is gold
His hair is fallen stardust.
No demon is our angel here
But a broken man, or maybe boy
Who once again was forced to take
Instead of giving, hopeless.
