"Can't I help you?" He asked, there was no pity, just sadness that shined clear as day in his emerald green eyes. 
"I am afraid you cannot, old friend." Her bright blue eyes met his, an apologetic gaze filled brokenness and and wonder. 
"Why? Tell me why I am unable to help you!" His voice broke a little making her heart throb a little. "Please..." 
She shakes her head, "You canning help Someone like me. Because I will break you as well. I don't want you to carry with you the things that have happened to me. Someone like you doesn't deserve that type of punishment when you have done nothing to deserve it." 
"Don't make assumptions like that." The sudden firmness in his voice startles her. Before she can speak, he continues. "You don't understand what I've gone though to make it this far. Not to mention what I've done."
