"Where are we?" She asked.
Her voice was scratchy and full of cracks. How long had she been unconscious for?
"Don't know. Just woke up." Came the response.
He still hadn't moved, his eyes never leaving her, never blinking. Lucy shuddered as a cough raked her body. It was so cold.

When Natsu and Lucy decide to go on a job to find and catch a thief, they have no idea what they are in for. When, as usual, the job ends in a disaster and they are trapped in a prison-cavern, Natsu and Lucy must face the fact that they are stuck. With no supplies to help them survive they must rely on the weekly arrival of food and water. But how long can meagre scraps support their ravaging hunger? As Natsu and Lucy's bond grows stronger and stronger, and they become weaker, Lucy must face the facts. When Lucy becomes deathly ill, the pair must find the will to survive while they hope for a shrinking chance at being rescued. But will being rescued be enough, of will their flickering hearts burn out.

"Natsu, you make me happy. And I don't know how I could've gotten through this week without you. Even with me not being able to speak you didn't plead with me to get me to talk or force me to talk. It made me love you even more for that." I paused for a moment, feeling the lump in my throat form, signaling that I was going to cry again. I took a shaky breath and looked at him with pleading eyes. "I don't know how I'm going to get through how ever long it is until I see you again. Please convince your parents to come with me! Please Natsu!" After Lucy and Natsu had just confessed their love for each other. Lucy finds out that her parents pass away in a fatal car accident. "You're so foolish! Realize there is no future for her! Thinking no one dies in a war..." Natsu's eyes shook as he stared down at Lucy's face, which showed closed eyes and a pained expression. "How pathetic! Learn this: no matter how much it hurts, innocent lifes fall." He laughed with an insane edge to it. "Nothing can save her now!" Natsu's hands shook as his head bent lower, holding Lucy to him like a lifeline. "As she takes her last breaths, hold her hand in yours. Not even your flames, Salamander...or your tears....can change the inevitable!" Natsu looked up from Lucy, his eyes glowing bright red. The magic he had obtained from the natives was starting to take affect, and his blood boiled in fury. "You wanna bet?" [completed] It's just another day at FairyTail, when Lucy enters the guild; a small smile across her lips, and her keys attached to her waist. The guild is being as rowdy as ever, the boys throwing chairs at each other as Erza tries to get them all to settle down. Except that Lucy can't seem to find Natsu. "Mira..." Lucy mumbles as she takes a seat at the bar, her eyes still searching for her partner. "Hm?" She asks, placing down the cup that she was cleaning. "Where's Natsu?" Mira's posture suddenly shifts, she leans over closer to Lucy, grabbing the edge of the counter. "Lucy..." She warns. "You have to stay away from Natsu. Just for a little while..." "Eh? Nani?" "Natsu isn't quite right for now. He'll be fine, but you have to stay at home for a few days." "Mira... What are you talking about?" She asks, confused. "I don't expect you to understand. You just have to trust me." "But it's his birthday this weekend... I made special plans to celebrate. Knowing Natsu, being sick won't stop him from hanging out and going to a buffet." She giggles. "He's too sick, Lucy. It's better for you both if you stay away from him for the time being. Just go home and rest, he'll be fine in a couple of days." Mira tells her, grabbing her arm and leading her to the door. "Eh? But Mira-" "Go Lucy." She pushes her out of the guild doors. "What has that Baka done now?" She mumbles, heading back home.
