"Here," he pushed a shiny little paper crane across the table in front of me. 
"What's this?" I twist the crane in my fingers. "A memoir, to help you remember our first date." I felt the red flood my cheeks "what? What are you hiding?" He read me like a book.
"This is actually my first date... Ever." I sheepishly admit still playing with the little gum-wrapper crane. "So a round of firsts for the lady..." He teases with a smile. "I've been noticing a lot of firsts actually since you waltzed into my life..."  This seemed to strike a cord because his face softened and his hand reached for mine. "You have no idea..." He whispered. "How about this... One crane for every first we experience, as a result of the other. "
