Ah, what would it feel like to be the husband of Eraserhead, homeroom teacher of U.A.'s honourable Class 1-A? Well, Sandman sure knows.

A boy, born with the power to lure people into slumber with a simple flick of the wrist and a handful of sand. Sandman's magical sand was always used as a method for insomnia in his mother's clinic, and a helper for his father, chucking a load of sand at him whenever he overworks. 

He wanted to be a hero, but never got the chance to prove himself in the entrance exam. But there was another boy, one with black hair who managed to get into the hero course without any physical quirk.

"Hey, get up, you won't pass if you stay down there all day."

That was the first meeting of Shota Aizawa and Sha Madoromi.
