A Micro knows everything about its person. Every message you have ever sent. Every thing you have ever purchased. Every place you have ever been. A private storeroom of personal information. But there is one thing Kaylee Valadez's Micro doesn't know about her. A Class 2 citizen of the New World, Kaylee considered one of the 'lucky ones'. But her Class doesn't change the fact that she's always been a misfit - and is hiding something potentially deadly. When Kaylee's twin sister, Suzie, becomes terminally ill, she is forced to search the Old World for answers. Wherever clues about Suzie's illness appear, hints of Kaylee's ability to stop time crop up as well. The link between the two pulls Kaylee into the depths of the mysterious 'Society', a network of people with paranormal talents. But something dangerous is brewing. Tensions between the Old World and the New World are building. People are changing. And Kaylee is determined to find out what is going on before everyone's time runs out...

Dea Price is a runaway- or rather she was a runaway. When her mother's rants about the man who lived behind the mirror and who would one day come for Dea became too much, she left. Two years later, Dea is forced home to help her estranged brother bury their mother. Coming home forces to Dea to confront her past, and also brings an interesting group of strangers into her life. At first, Dea is sceptical, but when she begins exhibiting inhuman powers, she has no choice but to trust, something that doesn't come easy to her. Slowly, Dea learns the shocking truth. Her mother wasn't crazy or vindictive. The man behind the mirror is real, and he is coming for her. Dea learns that she belongs to a special race of humans who possess abilities such as mind control, telekinesis, and superhuman strength. She is thrust into the middle of a turf war, and tasked with protecting herself, and the family she never knew she had. Dea must learn how to control her budding powers, but she also must decide who she can trust, and what is and isn't worth fighting for.
