I first saw Nathan Walker when I was 21. We were at the fanciest bar I'd ever been to, celebrating my roommate's birthday. I was tipsy, the music was loud, and the lights were flashing. But I saw him walk in anyway. Immaculately dressed, with a dominating aura that commanded my eyes to stay glued to him. Little did I know that I'd end up marrying this stranger I'd once set my eyes on for no more than 30 seconds.

He swept me off my feet, but I was no Cinderella and he was far from Prince Charming. Like the harsh Chicago wind, he blew everything out of my life until there was nothing left but him. I thought our life together was a nightmare I'd never wake up from. Until one day, I finally woke up, and realized that the nightmare I'd hated so intently was actually a dream I never wanted to let go.

----

Nathan Walker was every woman's dream. Charmingly attractive, rich, and intelligent beyond his years. Marrying him should've been a dream come true, but Adeline only ever felt trapped in this hopeless, loveless marriage. Or so she thought. Everything in this marriage was seemingly simple--all she had to do was play the trophy wife part to her successful businessman husband. But of course, the truth is never what it seems. The monster she thought she hated was actually a hero in hiding. When Nathan's cover blows and everything rises to the surface, she realizes only too late that he truly is the best thing to ever happen to her.
