Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. And then one night while heading to go get her friend she's taken and thrown into a world she didn't know existed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Remi?" Jen says suddenly. "Hmm?" I hum back. "Do you ever wish you could just live in the forest? Away from everyone and everything?" She looks at me. "Free." We stare at each other for a long time. I see the real meaning in Jen's eyes. Her worries for going home to her overly strict parents. Her fears for the future and the unknown in general. "If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny. "I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?" "Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.Lengkap

'"What are you doing here?!" I scolded. "What are you doing here?!" Hunter said. "You didn't answer my question!" I said to him. He looked at me and I knew what was coming next. He suddenly turned from furious to comforting. "What's is this place?" He whispered and opened his arms. I examined him cautiously before breaking and running into his arms. I cried against his strong build. He stroked my hair and whispered repetitively, "Its ok. I'm here now. Don't worry. I'm all yours."' Everyone has to start somewhere. My life started without a dad. People change their minds and people make mistakes. My mom did just that when she left me at four years old with my Great Aunt Lorie. I know where my mom lives, but I wish I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I still love her to death, but sometimes...forgiveness...is hard to give out...to everyone. 'I jumped over the river that I had never crossed before. I heard my mom calling my name behind me, but I ignored her. Tears streamed down my face. Now, on the other side of the river, I was in a forest, jumping over logs and fallen tree trunks, pushing leaves out of my face. I stopped when I finally felt fully isolated. I sat down on a small rock and cried and cried and cried. I guess this is where I will stay for now. I guess these are just my woods for now. Just my woods for now.'Lengkap

Dylan is Fine. Completely Fine. With a capital F. That is, until, his mother, for some reason, taken in her godson who'd gotten kicked out of his house to make Dylan 'feel better'.
