Emma had already decided to give up. She refused to risk her and Niall's friendship with the idea that it could become something more.
She simply wasn't willing to risk it, because she knew that he didn't feel the same towards her and never would.
But what if he did?
This mini story is based on the idea of never giving up.
Life may not always go the way you want it to, but what hurts the most is the regret of not having tried when there was still a chance. You may get rejected, you may feel sad, but at least you tried. Things will go better next time, and so it's important to never forget this; don't give up if there's still a chance
This was my first time ever writing a story. I wouldn't really call it a full on story as it's just a mini story. Still, I felt inspired and decided to give it a go because why not.
To anyone who happens to find this book, I hope you don't mind taking some minutes from your time to read it. And I hope that you may feel at least slightly inspired by it if you do.

For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. In the beginning, it all felt so effortless, like we were simply meant to be. His smile, that infectious grin that made the world feel lighter, could melt any wall I built around myself. The way he looked at me, like I was the only person in the room, the only one who mattered.
