It crept along swiftly, less than a metre from the outskirts of the path that led Cælesteral Silvestris to Lacus Lake. Its dark cape, concealing it's face, billowed in the warm breeze, which tunnelled through the damp canopy above the pathway. It saw her. Pure hatred gleamed in its eyes.
She was whistling, skipping along the path, happiness illuminating her. It shivered in disgust, still concealed in the dense woodland.
Leaves crackled and she abruptly froze, terror filling her face quickly, almost too quickly. But she wasn't stupid, she knew. She knew what was rumoured to lurk in the dense woodland. She had heard too many stories of what was out there and she was petrified. She slowly looked around.
It could smell the fear radiating from her porcelain skin like a pungent odour. It was now or never. With a sudden movement it grabbed her wrist. She slumped and the small dark figure pulled her into the dense woodland consumed with hatred, jealousy and triumph.

"I told you before, my dad left it to me, I swear." I said truthfully. She looked at me for a few seconds, thinking. I couldn't shake the feeling that everything about her was cold. "Well, even if you don't know anything, she'll come for you. And I will have the answers I want." She said with indifference before adding huskily in my ear. "And... I think we can have some fun together while you stay. Don't you agree?" She said as she laughed again and gave me her signature smile. Her lips are as red as blood. She has tears running down her face and a bruise just below her left eye. She's holding my necklace. The moonlight shines on the single engraved word "Noel". "Take this." She says, "Noel! Take this and run. Put it around your neck and never, NEVER take it off. It will keep you safe." The woman hears something and turns around to look, then looks back at me with panic and sorrow in her eyes. I hear a male voice behind her mumbling something, I can't make out what he's saying. I can't make out the man's face as he walks up behind the woman and squeezes her shoulders. He takes the necklace wincing and slips it over my head. They're talking to me but I can't hear what they're saying. I only see the panic in their face. "Noel! RUN." I hear screams and growls as I'm running as fast as I can.
