Alone so very alone, tears flowed freely as Naruto locked eyes with Madara. The man's smile was nothing but hunger and cruelty. Slowly Naruto felt his strength begin to wane, and with it any hope he had left. One final glance at the bodies scattered around Naruto gave his own smile before letting his lone kunai clatter to the ground. "I wish I could go back, having the knowledge I have now. This battle would never happen, and you would still be six feet under."

Never expecting to have his wish granted Naruto finds he has a second chance, but after watching everyone he ever loved die at his feet the boy quickly decides to change the future on his own. If that means he has to leave his village behind to sell his soul to the Akatsuki, Naruto doesn't see a problem if it gets him close to Obito. Naruto will change the future no matter the cost.

Author's Note: Hello! I originally posted this work on Archive Of Our Own, it's doing well and I had a reader ask to post it here in their native language. So I decided to transfer the true work as well! This story is already thirty chapters in, while I'm transferring this work I'm also editing it, so this won't be up to date over night!

unOrdinary: The Alternative

23 parts Ongoing

After the torture he was subjected to in the Readjustment Classes, John wasn't sure how he could bear to live with himself anymore, not after everything he did as the Tyrant of New Bostin. He wasn't a good person. He was nothing but the hollow husk of a monster, something that should be left to fade away into the darkness-alone, forgotten. But within that pit he was content with laying in, to let any shred of hope he could have wilt and die, a light pierced through the depths. Unordinary, a book his dad wrote for him, and John finds it in himself to believe...maybe he can be a good person after all. Or: William's message truly gets through to John, he learns to help others with his power, and changes ripple throughout John's life and the hierarchy that almost destroyed him because of it.
