To be BLACK has been looked at as a curse of some sort. For the most part, the word black is too often associated with more negative connotations than positive ones. However, being black means being proud and being beautiful! To be black means so many amazingly spectacular things. I wrote this poem, with my emotions bleeding directly from my pen. This to me, is what it means to BLACK.

His eyes had started to see me differently. That desire I saw on his eyes on the lift scared me a bit though. I never noticed the blackness of his eyes. Black is a rare color. He had the rare colored eye which shone at moments like when we kissed. And it was starting to drown me in them. But when my head processed to what I was getting into, I pushed him away. Black means danger. It signifies negative connotations. Death. Mystery. Darkness is black. I fear the darkness. Daylight brings life. Black is death. But my thoughts changed the next moment. The shine on his eyes forced me not to see this part. After Darkness daylight peeks from my window. After each nightly the hope of best next day. After night you wake up fresh, to carry out a new day.Complete

His world was filled with darkness, so much that it was impossible for someone to even look into his eyes. That night when I met him in the rain, darkness all around, I did not know what his eyes held. I was in an illusion from the beginning, the mirage that he was my knight in shining armor, when he was the devil of my desires. Now, when I have realized who he really is, I have decided to escape him. For obvious reasons, I decided to run and run to escape the darkness. But every time I try, my hopes get crushed by those black hawk eyes, somehow those eyes, his eyes that hold the depth of deep black, dark oceans meet my very own brown eyes and again I am trapped in his world full of darkness. I am an escapist and he is my prisoner. I want to leave while he has chained me to himself. My hopes are all under the pool of darkness, where my heart beats at an unknown pace. She didn't reply and I felt her finger move across my skin, lower, and almost all the way down my lower back. A shiver coursed through my body, strangely pleasant, and I felt her finger stop. "Your tattoos are beautiful," she said softly. Too close. She was too close. My pulse was hammering and I could feel her cool breath against my skin when she spoke, and my body was warm from having felt her. I couldn't reply. My breathing was light and shaken. I wanted to just turn around and pull her against me, or rather put her against a wall, so I could kiss her and feel her more properly against me. If she touched me again, I wasn't sure that I could keep myself from doing just that. "I'm going to take a shower," I said suddenly in an attempt to escape. She didn't stop me, so I took that opportunity to walk away. When I reached the bathroom, I took a deep breath to steady myself as well as my pulse. Closing the door behind me, I ran a hand through my hair. She truly was a nightmare. A bad boy's worst nightmare was a girl that made him want to be a good one.Complete

"I could kill you," he grins holding the gun to my temple. "I wouldn't be scared," I reminded him. He trails the gun under my chin lifting it, allowing me to look him in the eyes. "No one would know you were murdered by me," he continues making me smile. "I think I might have a gun kink;" I tell him while holding eye contact.
