To be BLACK has been looked at as a curse of some sort. For the most part, the word black is too often associated with more negative connotations than positive ones. However, being black means being proud and being beautiful! To be black means so many amazingly spectacular things. I wrote this poem, with my emotions bleeding directly from my pen. This to me, is what it means to BLACK.

I fell in love with the utmost beauty of you,the deepest truth of you...yet I was never noticed. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Jai easily accepted he loves his best friend, slowly falling deeper into the feelings. Feeling swoons and what not. First crush hits different,right? Especially when your crush is your bff and you got to know he has a crush too,who is not you and little did you always knew it was never gonna be you. Either you have to erase the feelings or keep hurting for the rest of your life. But life wants you miserable,and now you are worse than that. Would Jai ever get over or will fall in the void deeper and alone. This is how it feels to love your best friend. She didn't reply and I felt her finger move across my skin, lower, and almost all the way down my lower back. A shiver coursed through my body, strangely pleasant, and I felt her finger stop. "Your tattoos are beautiful," she said softly. Too close. She was too close. My pulse was hammering and I could feel her cool breath against my skin when she spoke, and my body was warm from having felt her. I couldn't reply. My breathing was light and shaken. I wanted to just turn around and pull her against me, or rather put her against a wall, so I could kiss her and feel her more properly against me. If she touched me again, I wasn't sure that I could keep myself from doing just that. "I'm going to take a shower," I said suddenly in an attempt to escape. She didn't stop me, so I took that opportunity to walk away. When I reached the bathroom, I took a deep breath to steady myself as well as my pulse. Closing the door behind me, I ran a hand through my hair. She truly was a nightmare. A bad boy's worst nightmare was a girl that made him want to be a good one.Complete

This collection of poems is endlessly dedicated to the power of the color Black. Black which in common parlance is perceived to be negative and a disability to continue the chapters of life. But this very Black which has been described as the most powerful color for survival on earth.
