[#27 IN PERIOD] Elaine Mallory Walker has always had her life planned out ahead of her; being sucked through time to attend an 18th century aristocratic academy was not part of that. Now Elaine has to figure out how to escape these elaborate stone walls while juggling her classes and the mysterious personality of her stone-cold tutor. As Mr. Philip Bentley reveals more and more to her, she begins to wonder if she truly wants to go back home. This story is being written in short chapters for my creative writing class. At the beginning of each class I'm given twenty minutes to write nonstop. Because of this the chapters may have typos and confusing bits; I plan on fixing these later.

She is someone who possesses an above-average aptitude for practicing magic: a mage. However, when her older brother is left unable to walk due to a brutal injury, she is granted the chance to take his place at Glyph Academy, the country's most prestigious magic-teaching institution. Now, all she needs to do is survive a school filled with lunatic teachers, unorthodox classes, and a homeroom crammed with talented yet half-baked nobles. A tall order, to be sure. Then again, nobody ever promised becoming a sorcerer would be easy...
