13 year old Carter Craine is struggling to survive in the grimy city of Gotham. She has a refuge family she's trying to uphold. It doesn't help wwhen other gangs come looking for territory and try to steal yours. When a certian fight happens Carter is know faced with a new type of problem, superpowers. Since she has never gone to school, she can not read, or write, or do anything acedimic related. Since being smart is a big part in being a superhero, she is suddenly thrown into school. She know faces school, bullys, popularity, bad guys, and trying to rase the other refuges. But sometimes, there's only so much one 13 year old can do.

"Ava, you have to be quiet! They'll hear you-" Tears started to spill from my eyes, blending in with the rain that dripped down my face. I shouldn't have come here.
