In a world with only betrayal, Venus never trusted anyone, not even herself. But when the time came for the annual ball everything turned sideways.

"Why don't you trust me?" He said quietly as he tilted my face up and forced me to look at him. "I did everything for you..."

My mouth quivered, "b-because you're a monster! I heard the rumors about you. You're no Prince Charming, not the ones in those fairytales!" 

There was fury in his eyes, I could feel the anger rolling off him. Then he grabbed me by the wrist tightly and dragged me away from the ball room.
